Information about the practice

First Consultation- case taking

In classical homeopathy, the initial consultation is very detailed and generally takes 2 hours, and in difficult situations it may even take longer. Both current issues and complaints as well as your medical history and hereditary predisposition are very important inputs into the diagnostic process

The best and most effective way for me to find the right individual homeopathic remedy is for you to come to the first appointment prepared by self-inspection and reflect on your symptoms closely, as well as being open and patient. I will send you a questionnaire beforehand, which you should preferably send back to me 1 week before the session or bring with you at the initial consultation.

With this information from your medical past and the case-records I will compile an analysis and repertorisation to find a bespoke homeopathic solution for your health complaints.

Follow-up consultation

For the subsequent treatment, I generally contact patients within 6 to 8 weeks and thereon at increasingly larger intervals. The time required for these appointments will be between 30 and 60 minutes. The first follow-up consultation is very important, as we shall assess your reaction and susceptibility to the first medication and to plan the further course of treatment.

At this stage it would prove quite helpful to keep an individual diary between our appointments. Have there been any changes in general (energy, sleep, emotional) or with regard to the particular symptoms? We would like to ascertain if there has been any temporary resurgence of past symptoms from your medical history, of any temporary appearances of unknown symptoms, or even if there have been any deteriorations.

Treatment costs

I run my practice as a complementary and alternative medicine practitioner as a private practice and on the basis of private invoicing. For this reason you shall receive an agreement on the settlement of costs on your first visit ( a procedure that all doctors that have a private practice follow, whether mainstream or alternative). From a legal point of view, remuneration is subject to an agreement between the (alternative) practitioner and the client. Contrary to the scale of fees for doctors (GOÄ) or for dentists (GOZ), a non-medical practitioner can agree on individual fees.

As a rule, statutory health insurance companies do not cover the costs of Heilpraktiker treatment and medication, but policyholders under the statutory insurance scheme can take out a private supplementary insurance policy that also cover homeopathic services. Reimbursement by private health insurance companies are possible but depends entirely on the coverage of your particular contract.

The cost units (civil servants allowance or private health insurances) often refer to the “Gebührenverzeichnis für Heilpratiker” (GebüH) in their contracts, which are a set of non-binding schedule of fees. This orientation guide for the reimbursement of Heilpraktiker services dates back to 1985 and the amounts listed therein are correspondingly outdated. In order to give patients, therapists and insurance schemes an updated orientation about the treatment procedures and expected costs of homeopathic services, the VKHD (Verband klassischer Homöopathen Deutschlands e.V.) recommends its members to invoice according to the service specifications of classical homeopathy (LVKH).

You will find these numbers in my invoices as well as the analog and reference numbers of the GebüH to avoid unnecessary complications with the health insurance companies. Should you nevertheless have reimbursement issues, the patients guide of the VKHD is at your disposal under www.vkhd.de.
